Workshop on Future in Halal Industry

Muslims should Unite together to promote Halal Food Products.
Department of Food Science & Nutrition- MUL in collaboration with Minhaj Halal Certification (PVT) LTD organized a one day workshop “Future in Halal Industry” for Ensuring Human Well-being on August 7th
The Chief Guest Honorable Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Secretary-General of Pakistan Awami Tehreek said,’’ the progression in Halal Industry in Pakistan is only possible if we bear our responsibilities to be an accountable citizen and work unitedly to promote Halal Products only. The same way, the Muslim Ummah globally unite together to promote Halal Food Products. The world is changing and we must learn to change with the world.”
Other speakers gave unanimously the message that usage of Halal Food products means that we are abiding by the doctrines and footpath of Holy Prophet (PBUH). They added that’’ Halal food industry is growing day by day. It is not only concerned with meat as in broader spectrum it also deals with fruits and vegetables. Food conscious people always go for halal products. Sharia concept of Halal food means to have blessings of Allah.”
Mr.Faraz Akhtar Malik, Operational Manager Halal Certification in his comprehensive briefing stated,’’Halal spectrum is not only confined to food products but is broadened to Halal education, Cosmetics, Logistic, Modest Fashion and Halal Media means to make documentaries and Movies for both adults and Kids as per Islamic Values and same way encouraging Halal Tourism that providing freedom to tourists to offer prayers places at tourist resorts and observing other religious values. For the promotion of Halal Industry, we must actively engage the chamber of Commerce and Industry.”
Ms Humaria Batool, Hadia Saqib Hashmi and Mr.Mufti Zia-ul-Mustafa Maki Al Azhari and Abid Hussain lecturer ( Food & Nutrition) in their overview highlighted the subtleties of Halal Food products ranging to low-quality oil, Ingredients in making bakery items and continental dishes and to maintain Halal standardization issues in preparation of such foods.
Mr Saeed Alam, Director of Business Development, Minhaj Halal Certification stressed that we have to strive hard to promote Halal Industry. Thanks to Minhaj University for providing a platform to accelerate the pace of this industry. He requested the students to be the Ambassador of Minhaj Halal Certification and ultimately benefiting yourself and strengthening the Muslim world by consumption of Halal Products

At the end of the workshop, the successful students who completed the Halal certification were accorded with certificates.
